Impact Hub Kigali, in collaboration with WWF, launched this week the Solar Entrepreneurship Program, The program, part of the Africa Energy Marketplace, focuses on identifying and supporting solar startups in Rwanda.
As part of this program, Impact Hub Kigali will be carrying out design thinking, business modelling and pitching sessions for university students during the end of 2017 and first quarter of 2018. The first session took place at University of Rwanda’s College of Science and Technology (KIST) on 21st November and was attended by approximately 70 students. Design Thinking sessions will also be held this week at UR Remera Campus and at UR College of Business and Economics. Furthermore, pitching sessions are scheduled for next week at the Impact Hub Kigali’s rooftop space as well as at KIST.
After the different training sessions, top teams will be invited to pitch for working space, mentorship and seed financing. The pitch competition will be held next June 2018, in the context of a larger Solar Energy event.
