Job Summary
As a Program Manager at Impact Hub Kigali, you will play a pivotal role in the successful design, implementation and management of a diverse range of programs aimed at empowering entrepreneurs and strengthening impact-driven ventures. In this full-time position, you will work closely with the IHK team and liaise with program partners to plan, execute, and monitor programs effectively, ensuring the success and growth of participating ventures. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that programs are delivered on time, within scope, and budget, while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
Program design and implementation
- Design, implement and manage incubation and acceleration programs tailored to the needs of the entrepreneurs and their ventures.
- Develop program timelines, curriculum and activities, ensuring high quality support for the ventures.
- Design and promote open calls and shortlist selected startups that meet the program’s criteria.
- Liaise with facilitators, mentors, coaches, and experts providing necessary support to enhance program implementation.
- Manage logistics for program activities, including catering, transportation, venue, etc.
- Conduct regular check-ins with the Director of programs to monitor program progress and address any issues promptly.
Venture’s support & growth
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ventures in the program, ensuring their needs are adequately met.
- Provide strategic guidance and connect ventures with mentors, coaches, and relevant ecosystem stakeholders.
- Track and share opportunities with ventures.
Training and event facilitation
- Assist in the facilitation of workshops, training sessions and peer learning opportunities.
- Support the coordination and facilitation of events, including Pitch Events or Demo Days.
Program tracking
- Monitor and evaluate program’s progress and results.
- Develop KPIs to measure program success and startup growth.
- Prepare reports for partners and other key stakeholders.
- Collect and assist in analyzing data to evaluate program effectiveness, identify areas of improvement, and support data-driven decision-making.
Resource management & fundraising
- Assist in budget planning and tracking, ensuring activities are within the allocated budget.
- Help prepare financial reports.
- Identify funding opportunities and contribute to proposal writing.
Partner Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with program partners and collaborators.
- Identify and pursue strategic partnerships that enhance program offerings and provide additional value to entrepreneurs.
- Represent IH Kigali at key events, and networking opportunities.
Others
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of programs, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and other relevant records.
- Be prepared to address and manage unexpected challenges and crises that may arise during program execution.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as required and appropriate for the role.

Who we are looking for
Experience
- University degree in Management, Business Administration, Project Management, International Studies or a related field, with at least 3 years of work experience in program or project management.
- Background in Business is desirable.
- Experience working in the Kigali innovation/ entrepreneurial ecosystem, ideally experience with incubation or acceleration programs
- Experience in project management, including planning, execution and monitoring.
Competencies/Skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Creative thinker with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- High level of responsibility and commitment to timely task completion.
- Knowledge of project management tools (e.g. Trello, Notion, etc), Excel and google sheets
- Knowledge of impact measurement frameworks and tools.
- Strong passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
- Familiarity with Design Thinking and human-centered design approaches is a plus.
- Eagerness to engage in continuous learning and professional development.
Languages & commitment
- Fluent in English. Knowledge of Kinyarwanda and French is preferred
- A minimum commitment of 2 years
